If you like small, hometown, glad you could make it, events... this is one to put on your calendar. Each fall in November, the towns people gather and decorate their town and their homes for Christmas. The town is filled with towns people and local crafts people selling all kinds of hand made Christmas items. The Historic Center, the church, the school, the yards are full of things to buy and eat for the holiday season. You can take carraige rides, buggy rides that are horse drawn and decked in bells. You can tour homes that are decorated and opened for tours, visit the museum, visit the crafts, and visit the frontier demonstrators from the French and Indian War clear up to the Cival War this year. Next year they will include the WWI and WWII, and dedicate a war memorial that they plan to build. Monte Pearson, Larry Pearson, Ed Douglas, Genny Douglas, and myself the COHT Ohio Representative were on hand to talk about things, demonstrate things, and show items of the 18th century. We were there from Thursday morning until Sunday evening. We participated in a parade they have every year, and we were visited by Mr and Mrs Santa Claus in our camp. Good news, I am on the good boy list this year... although Larry told Mrs Claus that someone is lying to her, shes got bad information on that one.

Its a great home town event, sit and relax, talk to the public if you like, or just do some shopping. We in the frontier camp even staged a night time battle against the Confederate encampment. They built a fort out of straw and everything, and tried taking our camp... but we fended them off for about an hour. Yes, they ran out of powder. I called across the battle field that if they wanted some powder, for them to send us a prisoner... they did, and we kept the powder too. It was a fun time by all. So if your looking for a fun and yet friendly event with something for everyone, come to the Christmas in the Village next year, be glad to have you there. Our thanks to the towns people of Eldersville, PA for inviting us every year and being so kind to us.
