Here is the COHT Ohio State Representative's camp, at the Forest Festival in Elkins, WV. See ole Yeller waving back at you? This Larry Pearson, and his camp at the Forest Festival. Sending smoke signals again Larry? This is mother and daughter, on the left is Rhonda Merten and on the right her mother Maggie Pearson. Two lovely southern ladies. Now here is a family affair. We have a few generations of the Pearson clann here. Starting to the left, we have Larry Pearson in front of all the rifles (Monte is a expert Gun Smith, custom makes them also). Than we have Maggie Pearson (Monte's wife) seated behind the rifles, than that is Rhonda Merten (Maggie and Monte's daughter) beside her. Dave Merten (Rhonda's husband) is under the fly there behind Monte in the shadows. Than we have Kaleb Merten (Rhonda and Dave's son) in the ghostly white shirt, than we have Monte Pearson there on the right. That's three generations there.

The Forest Festival has been going on in Elkins West Virginia for years. It was my first year attending, and I am glad I went. I never saw a parade start so early in the morning and run so late into the evening... it was great. We marched in the parade representing our various Black Powder organizations and shooting the guns off. It poored down rain so hard it just laid in the streets. Funny how those rick guns kept going off despite the rain and the cap guns... well, lets just say they went off once. No big events other than the parade to speak of as far as the encampment, but they had the fair, the festival, the crafts, the jousting and the lumber jack competitions. Its a personal invitation only event, so if you think your interested, contact one of us and we will see what we can do. We camp right on the grounds of the college, so space is at a premium, but there is always room for one more.
